Story of a cat
|

by MEL-. Hmm, I love cats, this is just a random poem. I'm gonna update everyday (:

Whiskers caught in a sewing machine
The miniature attempts to limp on three frail limbs
Barely breathing
Still as a rock
Tries so hard to move
Finally lies down to await her fate

Eyes tightly shut, like threads - woven together.

Doeful eyes that seem to cry out
In its solitary state
When will its days finally be over?
Tries to lick, but she can't seem to find her tongue
Numbed with extreme thirst
Too tired to even make a sound
Not even to wince

Heart is still beating, a neglected voice stays within

Thinking back to those happy times
When the family loved her
Papa would kiss her
And she missed Mama's cuddling
The children would fuss over her
Oh they loved her so much
They did
THEY DID!
But that was all in the past
It's over.

They left without a word, and never looked back.

But there was nothing she could do.
Unloved, unwanted, uncared for
They did not even bother to give her away
Just left her here, lonely and alone.
She tripped over something, and when she woke up,
she found her whiskers trapped
And everyone had left.

They packed their things and left her here.
A month had passed, and she was growing weaker
Feeble and withdrawn
Hurt and betrayed
Of her love.

She had never loved so deeply before

The dark walls seemed to glare at her
Everything in this house felt so sinister
A world of pain and misery
How could they do this to her?
HOW COULD THEY?

no one was here, not a single soul was in sight.

She felt desperate, and terrified
Lost and afraid
She longed for their touch, to see the twinkle in their eyes when they smiled
She needed so much
But all she wanted was them to come back home.

could it be? was someone opening the front door?

Or maybe not.
Those words were all that filled her mind.
They left me
they left me
they abandoned me.
they might as well kill me
i'd rather die than live this lie
a lie i tell myself every day
that they'd come back someday
SOMEDAY.

Eyes tightly shut, like threads - woven together.

Woke up to find herself in a different place
"It is so white in here" she thought to herself
A place she had never seen before
It looked so strange, so unusual.
Her whiskers were no longer caught
She was free
Just then, she saw them
Papa, mama and the kids

Tried to make a sound
But no one could hear her
But they walked away
They just walked away.

she stared helplessly and felt herself falling into the flames.
